It’s Sunday, Market Day! A must do while in Port Douglas.
First though, I have to tell you about our dining experience at Nautilus Restauarant in Macrossan Street. It was simply a decadent, elegant and amazing experience. I recommend it is on everyone’s bucket list. On arrival we were shown through to the cocktail deck, deciding to have the house signature Mango Daiquiri. Once again we choose to leave it to the experts and choose the 7 course degustation with matching wines…… words are hard to find to do justice to this most amazing experience.
After our morning walk on Four Mile Beach and coffee (yes we drink a lot of coffee) we headed to the famous Port Douglas Sunday Market, held every Sunday from 8am – 1pm at Anzac Park right on the waterfront overlooking the Inlet. While you are there pop into St Mary’s by the Sea, this little church holds the most weddings of any church in Australia! (according to the locals of course
)
A relaxing lunch was had at The Court House Hotel on the Sunset Deck, a perfect way to enjoy the afternoon in Port Douglas.
Back to the Sea Temple for a swim and relax before heading back into Macrossan Street for dinner! There is certainly no lack of choice for food in Port Douglas. We choose Paddy’s Bar on Macrossan Street for a casual dinner, try the Guinness Pie, it is their speciality. You can choose from many others, from Pizza, charcoal chicken, a Parma at The Central or Courthouse or of course Zinc or Finz.
Another day done, we have been in Port Douglas for 7 days already, there is so much more to see and do…… it wasn’t a hard decision to extend our stay.
More to come tomorrow!
