Daintree Tragedy, another one bites the dust.

Goodbye Daintree-Eco Lodge;

Another blow to Australian Tourism has occured this morning.

Well it just goes to show, it doesn’t matter how well you do it, if the crowds wont spend money nothing will keep you afloat.

Daintree Eco Lodge - Restaurant

Tragically the world renowned Daintree Eco Lodge has been put into receivership, certainly not being the first sacrifice of the tourism downturn over the last 5 years, and certainly not the last!

Its sad to see such a unique product, named the world’s best eco spa in the World Travel Awards only last year, has had to go by the wayside. But that’s the state of play in Australian tourism, simple.

Hopefully a buyer will be found and the Daintree eco Lodge will go on, but there certainly isn’t investment in tourism assets in Australia at this point in time. Maybe the Government need to look at Tax breaks, staff incentives, and genuine opportunities for business to survive. but then again, who am I kidding, we are capitalist after all, and we only care about our own hip pocket! (yes a little tongue in cheek).

Sad to see this happen.. :-(

      After our morning walk and coffee on our balcony at Sea Temple we headed out to the pool. The water was refreshing, plenty of room to swim or play in the shallows for the little people.

      We started our day with breakfast at 3 Nineteen. Just voted Ports best breakfast and would you believe the building is being demolished. This restaurant has one of the best views over the inlet. You feel like you are sitting in a postcard! Hopefully 3 Nineteen will find a new home soon.

      First though, I have to tell you about our dining experience at Nautilus Restauarant in Macrossan Street. It was simply a decadent, elegant and amazing experience. I recommend it is on everyone’s bucket list. On arrival we were shown through to the cocktail deck, deciding to have the house signature Mango Daiquiri.
